National Multiple Sclerosis Society has successful two weeks

Our client, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Lone Star Chapter, has had a suceessful couple of weeks. First, the Texas Commissoner of Insurance has issued a rule to prohibit insurance companies from using discretionary clauses in health care policies to deny benefits.

Read the recent Austin American Statesman article on the State’s decision to prohibit discretionary clauses.

And this week, the Austin City Council gave its approval to an ordinance to provide more protections and options for people with chronic diseases, such as MS, from utility disconnections during the hot summer months.
